Smart Flies is an online platform dedicated to fly fishing and tying!

Every fly is hand tied in Greece using only the best materials and hooks in order to meet our quality standards. 

This is not an e-shop so you will need to contact with us to place an order!

 

Tolis Lachanas is the proud owner and tier behind Smart Flies. 

Born and raised in Larissa, Greece, he has been fishing with several techniques both salt and fresh water most of his life!

He begun experimenting with fly fishing and fly tying in 2008 and since then it has become an essential part of his life.

Photography and feeling of the wild nature are also among his favorite aspects of the sport!

He is also the owner of  “Fly Fishing Greece”, a web place about fishing in Greece.

Also Tolis is a co-founder and currently General Secretary of the "Astraeus", the Hellenic Fly Fishing Association for the protection of wild trout, and article writer for several Greek and foreign fishing magazines!

 

Most of his fly patterns are based on years of experience in fly tying and are testing in various fishing locations worldwide!
